Soybean Rust found in NC and SC

For the first time ever, North Carolina officials have found Asian soybean rust in the state. Five counties were confirmed to have soybean rust based on samples collected Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

South Carolina officials reported nine new counties infected with Asian soybean rust today, saying they are finding rust on a semi-regular basis now.

SDS-Resistant Soybeans on the Horizon

An ancient offshoot of soybeans may one day provide resistance to sudden death syndrome (SDS) and soybean rust, University of Illinois scientists reported at the recent U of I Agronomy Day.
