Michigan Farmer along with Michigan Farm Radio Network and the Michigan Agri-Business Association has named their Master Farmers for 2006 – Dennis Hasenick, Bob Dykhuis and David Morris. Hasenick and Morris have been long-time Great Lakes Hybrids dealers.
These Master Farmers were first nominated by their peers and the selected my the Master Farmer committee.
Hasenick has helped grow a multigenerational farm of nearly 5,000 acres including beef cattle, dairy heifers, precision agriculture, no-till and crop rotation. He opes to someday transition the farm to his son, Marc.
Morris, 78, who is known by nearly all mid-Michigan farmers, is now retired from farming, but his contributions to agriculture cast a long shadow. Most notably, is his planned gifts to Michigan State University ($7.5 Million) and Grand Ledge public schools.
“Dave and Dennis have been hard-working supporters of Great Lakes Hybrids with dealerships they have maintained for a number of years,” said Mike Stephenson, general manager at Great Lakes. “We are very proud of their accomplishments and thank them for their service to agriculture and their local communities.”
