U of Wisc Pest Management Update Meeting Reminder

Please remember to register for the Pest Management Update meetings in November. The full schedule, meeting locations, and directions were announced in the September 7 issue of the newsletter, but here is a quick recap.

Please register 1 week before the meeting with the county agent listed below.

The meeting site for the Janesville location will be the Best Western on Hwy 26, just north of I-90. This site was not finalized in the previous notice.

Although it may seem like there shouldn’t be any major surprises or questions about pest management after all these years, it still amazes me how much pests or management options keep changing.

Just in regard to weed management, I would like to provide several updates from a couple recent meetings in a newsletter article, but I’m going to save this information and present it at these meetings. I’m sure my colleagues, Eileen Cullen, Craig Grau, and Mark Renz will be doing the same.

A sampling of topics that we will cover is listed below. We hope to see you next month.

Weed Management:

  • crop and pasture herbicide updates
  • results on Roundup Ready alfalfa
  • troublesome new and old weeds – hill mustard, Asiatic dayflower,

Disease Management:
