The northernmost discovery of soybean rust this season is being reported in Tippecanoe County, Indiana—the home of Purdue University.
USDA’s Soybean Rust website reports that one leaf from a sample of seventy-seven, collected Oct 22, had one sporulating pustule. Previous rust finds, reported last week, were all in southwest Indiana (Knox, Posey, Warrick, and Vanderburgh Counties).
So far, the northernmost soy rust find in Illinois is in Jefferson County, near Mt. Vernon.
