Purdue University agricultural economists will lead a series of seminars that are designed to help grain producers live without Loan Deficiency Payments as long as the biofuels market inflates corn and soybean prices.
The seminar series “Grain Marketing in the Biofuels Era” will be held from 7-9 p.m. EST January 22, January 29, February 5 and February 12. And according to organizers, the four-part marketing course will cover all of the different pricing options producers have for setting the price for their grain, from futures to options to cash market alternatives.
Seminar registration is $20 and includes grain marketing materials and the Purdue Extension CD, “Commodity Marketing.” Site locations are available by contacting County Extension offices throughout Indiana. The registration deadline is January 5th.
