Soybean rust found in Arkansas soybeans first time this year

Asian soybean rust was found today at low levels in commercial soybeans in southwest Arkansas, in the southeastern part of Little River County, just above Texarkana.

Officials recommend that growers in that immediate corner of the state treat fields at R1 to R6 stage with a combination strobilurin and triazole fungicide as soon as possible. Last year, soybean rust was not found in Arkansas until Oct. 19.
