I just had this asked yesterday by one of our GLH customers.
The answer is “Bean Leaf Beetles” usually not a big problem in the east, ask our friends to the west and you’ll get a much different story. Here is what they look like:

The most distinguishing mark is the triangle on the body by the head, early season defoliation is usually the biggest concern and the use of Fastbreak CP is the best way to control them at that time. As we get later in the season pod feeding becomes the problem and control can be accomplished with an insecticide (Warrior Lorsban etc.), application. When feeding is allowed to occur diseases such as Bean pod mottle virus can be introduced.
