MGR Bulletin 08-009 permits additional time (until August 15, 2008) to submit acreage reports for 2008 crop year spring seeded crops in certain States.
We have received several inquiries regarding whether the additional time also applies to the required Pilot BYE certifications and seed invoices.
The Pilot BYE Insurance Standards Handbook provides the two Pilot BYE certifications (BYE Seed Dealer Certification Statement and the BYE Insured’s Certification Statement) and copies of the applicable seed invoices must be submitted on or before the acreage reporting date. MGR Bulletin 08-009 permits additional time (until August 15, 2008) to submit acreage reports for 2008 crop year spring seeded crops in the Pilot BYE States. Accordingly, the additional time (until August 15) applies to the BYE certification statements and applicable seed invoices.
We have also received inquiries regarding the impact of the additional time for submitting acreage reports on the Pilot BYE random selection of policies for spot-check and any possible changes to the selection dates (see Pilot BYE Insurance Standards Handbook, Part 3, Section 1).
This is something we will be discussing, probably next week, and will follow-up with any changes, if needed.
