UNL: Saving money on input costs

Earlier this fall we began development of a new Web site with selected articles on how Nebraska farmers could reduce input costs in 2009.

These stories were linked from CropWatch and are all available at http://cropwatch.unl.edu/survivinghighinputcosts.htm
While markets and input costs continue to fluctuate, the value of carefully managing input costs has become even greater.

This Web site now features more than 40 newly revised crop budgets as well as articles related to grain storage and handling, crop systems, irrigation, pest management and soil fertility. These articles include research-based information on how to trim costs while maintaining or improving yield. Additional stories will be added this winter to aid in budgeting, purchasing and planning for 2009.
