UNL’s CropWatch – Know your Ear Rots and Molds

Several stories have been added to CropWatch and two links were updated below.

The story, Cool Grain to Avoid Runaway Deterioration, also includes links to other UNL resources on grain drying and storage. With late maturing crops and wet conditions prevalent across the state, Extension Educator Tom Dorn has been getting lots of questions. See his stories in this week’s CropWatch (and links to previous stories) , as well as a video interview on Market Journal (http://marketjournal.unl.edu) and an audio interview on Ag Almanac (http://agalmanac.unl.edu).

Plant Pathologist Tamra Jackson also has been getting a lot of calls as ear rots and grain molds increase under these conditions. In this week’s issue she explains how to scout for these problems and identify them correctly so you can act accordingly.
