Stalwart Alfalfa with StandFast™

Stalwart with StandFast (tm) alfalfa is one of a family of alfalfas designed for improved standability and faster recovery after harvest— generating extra yield without sacrificing persistence or forage quality. Stalwart’s standability has been extended to late-bud stage versus pre-bud for current alfalfas.

Stalwart recovers 30% faster than today’s fastest dormant varieties, giving you 3–5 days less between harvest and the ability to maximize cuttings per year. The genetic background of Stalwart comes from conventional plant breeding, crossing unique, tall, fast-growing germplasm screened for adaptability onto elite fall dormancy IV plants selected for superior yield, persistence and forage quality.

During the breeding, all plants were evaluated for recovery, the ability to stand upright and for high forage quality. NIRS technology was used to ensure only the plants with the highest cell wall digestibility were selected to advance.

Stalwart with StandFast™ alfalfa is a super variety for the market needs of today’s aggressive alfalfa managers looking to maximize yield and milk per acre.
