Managing Weed Resistance
Roundup® agricultural herbicides have been on the market for 30 years and have been the most widely used herbicides in corn, soybeans and cotton since 1997.
Roundup’s unique mode-of-action makes the chances of weed resistance to Roundup less likely than with other chemistries.
Weed Management Options
- Start with your preferred applicationmethod: preemerge residual followed by Roundup® WeatherMAX®, a tank mix of preemerge residual and Roundup WeatherMAX on weeds up to 4” in height, or Roundup WeatherMAX postemergence with no residual.
- Target the use rate of Roundup WeatherMAX for the tallest, most difficult weed in the field at the time of spraying. Use the right rate at the right time.
- When using tank mixes for tough weeds or weeds not labeled for control by Roundup WeatherMAX alone, use the labeled rates required to kill the targeted weeds. Dead weeds will not become resistant.
- Avoid premixes that have a reduced rate of glyphosate, or tank mixes with Roundup WeatherMAX that cause antagonism and reduce the effectiveness of Roundup WeatherMAX.
